Update on three injured Seneca police officers

After receiving medical attention, three Seneca police officers are OK, according to the chief of police.  Chief Bowling said it was a “bad” situation  for his officers around 9 Sunday night when they encountered a man cutting down bamboo on wooded property, property belong to someone else.  The police resorted to Taser to help subdue their suspect although, according to Bowling, a bamboo stick was used to attack officers.  One officer required treatment at the scene; two others went to the hospital.  But this morning, Bowling said, all three are OK.  Arrested was a 39-year-old resident of McAlister Road.  Brian Christopher Melero was charged with assault on police officers and possession of drug paraphernalia.
