Update from the SC Department of Transportation

Motorists entering South Carolina after crossing the I-85 bridge from Georgia are in for a smoother ride, but it will be a while.  A spokeswoman for the South Carolina DOT responded this afternoon to the inquiry from 101.7/WGOG NEWS about the cracked and bumpy asphalt that northbound vehicles from Georgia face when entering South Carolina.  The DOT’S Kelly Moore said, “Yes, we have a resurfacing project planned from MM 0 at the Georgia line to MM 19 along this corridor.  It is currently scheduled to be let for construction late summer/early fall of this year.”
