To date, eight police chief hopefuls

A deadline looms at the Westminster city hall.  Tuesday, January 16 is the final day to receive applications to be that city’s next chief of police.  By today, the number of applications received stood at eight.  “All have South Carolina addresses,” says Kevin Bronson, city administrator.  One of the qualifications reads:  “A minimum of 10 years of law enforcement experience demonstrating increasingly responsible work to include management-level or supervisory experience.  Formal education such as a bachelor’s or associate degree in criminal justice is preferred; a combination of years of service and a college degree(s) may be substituted for the minimum 10-year experience.”
