Time to count colorful songbirds

It’s time for the state DNR to survey for the colorful songbird the Baltimore Oriole, to check the status of Baltimore orioles who winter in South Carolina.  If you have Baltimore orioles coming to your feeders or have had them in the past years, SCDNR encourages your participation in the survey.  You can access the survey form and materials from this link:  South Carolina Wintering Baltimore Oriole Survey (arcgis.com).  Last year 25 South Carolina counties reported.  The majority of the birds reported wintered along the coastal plain from Myrtle Beach to Hilton Head Island, but orioles were seen as far west as Oconee County.
