Three bodies deliberate Oconee’s sewer future

At the outset today, here’s how the meeting moderator framed sewer issues involving three Oconee entities:  the county council, the county planning commission, and the Joint Regional Sewer Authority.  Chip Bentley said, “The hardest question to define is:  Where’s it (sewer lines) going to go, when’s it going to be needed, and how you can allocate your resources to get there.”  If anything the confines of one-hour to address various topics was just not long enough, but participants seemed OK with what they talked about and the expectation going forward there will be better and more direct communication among all three.  One of the revelations in the meeting is an explanation by county council members that their vote to reject financial inducements for new and large student housing on 123, the Seneca-Clemson corridor, doesn’t kill the project “Greenpaw.”  In fact, they predict the project by the same developer of Clemson Dockside will be built.
