The schools win a lawsuit, but the payout will be small

Oconee’s public schools are on the winning side of a lawsuit, but their share will be small.  District administrators stressed to the board of trustees that, more than anything, it’s the principle involved.  Thirty-four states and territories reached a settlement of $438.5 million with the E-cigarette maker Juul.  An investigation revealed that, even though e-cigarette sales are illegal to children, Juul deliberately marketed its products to the young.  Even today, associate superintendent Steve Hanvey says, vaping remains a problem within the district.
