The return is underway at Clemson University

The start of Clemson University classes is still days away, but the university community is packed with students who are occupying living spaces.  By afternoon yesterday, the dumpsters at one complex overflowed with boxes and other debris from items that the in-coming students have brought with them.  As the students make their way in and around campus, expect heavy traffic especially on highway 76 and Perimeter Road–much of which is being widened into a four-lane thoroughfare.  After progress inspections at the new alumni and visitors center next to Lake Hartwell, access for walkers and runners is now available on the north side of the rowing facility.  According to the university, caution should be exercised on the pathways.  The south gate near the wastewater treatment plant remains closed.
