The “Repeatedly Flooded Communities Preparation Act”

As a Charleston resident, Senator Tim Scott has witnessed the damage that hurricanes create — especially storm Hugo in the late 80s.  And he worked through storms as an insurance agent.  Scott is again trying to win support of his re-introduced bill the “Repeatedly Flooded Communities Preparation Act”. The bill encourages flood-prone communities to take preventive action and end the costly cycle of repeated flooding and rebuilding. Scott addressed a Washington Senate hearing of the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee.
