The first such raid of its kind in ’23

Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is announcing the first drug round-up of 2023 began this morning.

 

The Sheriff’s Office began the operation with a meeting and briefing yesterday at the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla.

 

Here is that announcement:

“The Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants on 22 subjects.  The arrest warrants were obtained based on controlled purchases of narcotics by undercover operatives working at the direction of the Sheriff’s Office.  Among the narcotics purchased during the controlled buys were Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Fentanyl, Heroin, Marijuana, Methamphetamine, and Prescription Medication.

 

As of 4:30 pm, 11 individuals had been arrested so far and/or were already in jail and will or have been served their warrants.  Here are the names of those subjects:

 

  • Charles Johnathan Sanders

Salem, SC

34 years old

Distribution of Prescription Medication (Suboxone) – 2 counts

Sanders was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:23pm today.

 

  • Timothy Wayne Duffy

Seneca, SC

38 years old

Distribution of Heroin – 1 count

Duffy was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on November 14th, 2022, on unrelated charges, and remains in jail at this time.

 

 

  • Barry Dee Palmer II

34 years old

Westminster, SC

Distribution of Heroin – 1 count

Palmer II was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on September 2nd, 2022, on unrelated charges, and remains in jail at this time.

 

  • Adam Joseph Reed

Seneca, SC

30 years old

Distribution of Fentanyl – 1 count

Reed was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on December 12th, 2022, on unrelated charges, and remains in jail at this time.

 

  • Jesus Urquiza

Westminster, SC

51 years old

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

Distribution of Cocaine – 3 counts

Urquiza was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 1:39pm today.

 

  • Desmond Trent Pearson

Westminster, SC

34 years old

Distribution of Marijuana – 3 counts

Pearson was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 10:29am today

 

  • Jordan Rose Haynes

Seneca, SC

20 years old

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 2 counts

Haynes was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 4:23pm today

 

  • Rashad Ali Thompson

Seneca, SC

43 years old

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 5 counts

Thompson was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on January 10th, 2023, on unrelated charges, and remains in jail at this time

 

  • Daryl Leron Moore

49 years old

Walhalla, SC

Distribution of Methamphetamine – 1 count

Moore was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:12pm

Ellis is currently incarcerated in a South Carolina Department of Corrections Facility

Dodd was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on October 8th, 2022, on unrelated charges.
