Tech gets a $500K donation

A college program which feeds students to local industry has been made stronger by a one-half-million-dollar donation to Tri-County Technical College. The Gene Haas Foundation presented the donation yesterday to support Tech’s CNC program — Computer Numerical Controls — and its CNC Advanced Manufacturing Lab at the college’s Industrial Technology Center.  Currently, 53 students are enrolled in day and night classes at the ITC.  The Haas Foundation was established by Gene Haas, founder and owner of Haas Automation to support the needs of the local community through grants.  The foundation recognizes the growing need for skilled manufacturing workers industry-wide.
