The prosecution case against a Walhalla man is expected to finish today in the Anderson County General Sessions Court.  Defendant Darrell Scott Brooks was charged with kidnapping and assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct after he was arrested in a police chase in 2024 in the Oconee County community of Long Creek.

Oconee County is advertising for contractors who would be interested in the job of laying a sewer line connecting Interstate-85 exit 4 and an existing line in Fair Play. Sealed bids are to be received until Thursday, August 27.  In the meantime, a mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled August 13 at the county administrative offices.
