By the middle of September, the Oconeeans who aspire to be the county’s next circuit court judge will be made known.  So far, according to a poll taken by 101.7/WGOG NEWS, three county residents are contemplating a candidacy.  They are Seneca-based attorney Andrew Holliday, Clemson University judge Lindsey Simmons, and Oconee assistant solicitor Blair Stoudemire.

The qualifying period ended Friday to enter the November election as a candidate to fill a vacated seat on the Walhalla City Council.  Only Dustin Raines is in line for his name on the ballot for the special November 3 election.

Unless a deadline to adopt is met by Friday, two young mixed puppy dogs face euthanasia at the Oconee Animal Shelter near Seneca.  Monty is a one-year-old bully mix, weighing 50 pounds; Ashton is a two-year-old labby mix, also weighs 50 pounds.  The humane society hopes some caring adopters will step forward to help stem the tide of unwanted pets.  […]
