Sprucing up those “stop” crosswalks

Oconee County resident Margaret Harper gave a shout out this morning to Thrift Brothers.  Thrift employees responded to a complaint about hard-to-see “stop” markings on the crosswalks in front of the West Union Ingle’s by re-inforcing the painted “stop” markers which are there to instruct motorists to come to a complete stop to allow supermarket shoppers to reach their cars and the grocery store’s front entrance as safely as possible.  According to Harper, it’s important to come to a complete stop – even if a pedestrian is not visible.  You never know, she says, when a child might bolt out without regard to passing traffic.
