Speeding leads to one of the “Four Fatals”

The “Four Fatals” — as Sgt. Hovis of the State Patrol likes to call them — often lead to death or injury on South Carolina roads and highways.  Hovis and his fellow troopers intend to be out in force over the July 4 weekend.  Their presence can simply lessen the chances for a driver to make a mistake at the wheel that can lead to disaster.  One of those four fatals is speeding, the tendency to keep a heavy foot on the gas pedal in violation of posted speed limits.  Hovis says those white signs with black lettering and numbers are there  a good purpose.
