Special Seneca meeting for legal advice

The mayor and the eight-member city council in Seneca are being called together for a special meeting Monday to receive legal advice on the “pending legal matter with OJRSA, the City of Walhalla & the City of Westminster.”  Late last year an attorney for Seneca put the Joint Regional Sewer Authority and its fellow members Walhalla and Westminster on notice that they risk being named defendants in a potential court action to determine whether Seneca, as the largest user and the largest treatment payer, deserves increased representation on the board that sets sewer policies.  As it is now Walhalla and Westminster, by combining their votes, can out-vote Seneca.  To brace for a potential lawsuit the JRSA and Walhalla and Westminster have been consulting their owns of legal counsel.
