Spay/neuter clinic to be added at the animal shelter

In the next few months, a spay/neuter clinic building is to be added to the Oconee Animal Shelter near Seneca.  The county Humane Society sees this as a step to reduce the pet overpopulation.  Over the years, intake numbers at the Sandifer Boulevard shelter have dropped, yet nearly 3,000 cats and dogs arrive each year.  Janet Barwick, board member, says, “We believe with greatly increased vet access and continued financial assistance, we can finally reduce the pet overpopulation in Oconee County.”
