South Carolina DSS embraces sensory inclusiveness

Signs have been sent to Oconee County DSS and all other county DSS offices in South Carolina signifying that the state DSS is now a certified sensory inclusiveness agency, through training provided by a national non-profit drawing attention to invisible conditions.  DSS pros are now able to better help South Carolinians through training and hands-on aids to reduce anxiety while working with the state service agency.  According to the non-profit Kulture City, one in six people in the U-S has a sensory need or an invisible disability.  To name a few, these undetectable conditions can include Alzheimer’s, autism, dementia, PTSD, strokes and sensitivity to light and sound.
