Sloan gives Thompson the credit

From its Main Street, Walhalla office, Visit Oconee has determined that the shows put on by the Center for the Performing Arts are the keys to bringing visitors downtown.  These visitors, Ken Sloan says, keep local cash registers ringing and keep the tables in downtown restaurants full of diners who want a meal before they see one of the shows that Mark Thompson, the WPAC director, arranges.  Sloan last night, credited Thompson with a keen ability to line up performers who happen to be traveling north to south and east to west.
