Sewer inspection complaint registered

Oconee’s sewer commissioners received a complaint suggesting heavy-handedness on the part of their inspectors.  Delivering the complaint yesterday was the county’s District Four councilman.  Julian Davis said he was speaking in the capacity of a private citizen, on behalf of a handful of restaurateurs whose businesses were inspected for compliance with fats, oils, and grease regulations.  Davis focused on two or three of Walhalla’s restaurants and complained that, in one of the inspections, the business operator was told to open a grease trap at the moment the business was serving customers.  Levi Shook of Alexander’s told the commissioners his business was one that was impacted.  There was no immediate comment from the sewer commissioners.
