Seneca’s comprehensive plan attention to sidewalks

One of the strategies outlined in the draft Seneca Comprehensive Plan to mold the city into a greater workable community is the term “pedestrian connections.”  It explains that providing those connections throughout residential Seneca neighborhoods and commercial areas has a number of positive impacts.  The plan states, “This will reduce the number of car trips (and thus automobile traffic) in the City, increase residents’ physical activity levels (which has a range of positive health impacts), and improve the small-town character of the City.”  In a program recorded for Saturday, 101.7/WGOG NEWS questioned Ed Halbig, the planning and community development director, about additional sidewalks and repairing existing ones.  His comments can be heard today on 101.7/WGOG NEWS.  The entire interview centering on the city’s new comprehensive plan airs Saturday morning, following the 7 am ABC NEWS.
