SENECA MAN CHARGED WITH SEX CRIMES AGAINST MINOR

According to jail records, 26-year-old Jessie Dewayne Shook of Seneca was served four magistrates bench warrants for hunting without a license in January of last year when he was arrested on new charges Monday filed by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to the bench warrants, Shook is facing six new counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, one count each of disseminating harmful material to minors, and second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 16.

The charges of exploitation and disseminating harmful materials were filed in relation to alleged incidents from February of this year. Warrants also allege that Shook engaged in criminal sexual conduct with a minor between July of 2020 and August of 2021.

Shook remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center with a total bond amount for the added charges set at $50,000.
