Seneca entertainment offerings get financial boost

As many as 100 thousand people are being projected to take-in as many as 35 separate events in a planned new facility in downtown Seneca.  The city’s efforts to expand entertainment offerings is boosted by the announcement today that the Appalachian Regional Commission has approved a grant in the amount of $500 thousand to build an outdoor amphitheater near the downtown business district.  Besides the $500 thousand, local funds are to provide $840 thousand – bringing to $1.3 million total project funds.  The project is to include a stage, restrooms, landscaping, and parking.  City officials hope an amphitheater builds on the city’s effort to revitalize their downtown area.
