Seneca connection to the Maine shooting spree

A first-year Seneca businesswoman began getting social media notifications from friends back in Maine not long after authorities identified a man from Bowdoin, Maine as the suspect in the Lewiston shootings.  It turns out her friends in Maine were asking hadn’t they been high school classmates of suspect Robert Card, 40 years old, and a graduate of Mt. Ararat High School.  Turns out, they were and so was the Seneca businesswoman who moved to Oconee County from Maine only last summer.  For the purposes of this story, at her request, we are not identifying her by name, nor is 101.7/WGOG NEWS identifying the Seneca business where she now works.  We spoke to her today and learned that she remembers Card as a member of her graduating class in 2001.  Though she does not remember him well, she told us, she’s more familiar with members of his family.  The Lewiston, Maine shootings, at two locations October 25 killed 18 people and injured 13 others.  One of the locations in Lewiston was a bar-grille restaurant, and the Seneca businesswoman told us that’s a place she had been in frequently when she lived there.
