Seneca City Hall surprise

A representative of the real estate company pursuing a large home development at Seneca’s northwest edge withdrew its re-zoning request at the start of last night’s planning commission meeting.  Tricia Chassen explained that her group’s site plan is being further reviewed based on what she called “topographic constraints.”  Concerned residents in the vicinity of Frontage Road, Queen Anne’s Lane, and other roads have raised environmental concerns, besides traffic concerns about 88 single-family homes and 250 town homes spread over nearly 100 acres.  Applause rang out from several of those residents when Chassen made her announcement at the start of last night’s meeting.
