Seneca-based health center can wear badge with pride

A health clinic at Seneca that qualifies as a federally-qualified clinic is seeing dividends from its association with the national government.  The U-S Department of Health and Human Services today named the Rosa Clark Medical Clinic, on the grounds of the Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital, a recipient of a digital badge.  It’s one of only three in the state to be so honored.  The gold badge recognizes Rosa Clark’s achievements in improving health outcomes and providing high-quality care for patients in rural and under-served communities.  Vickie Thompson, Rosa Clark CEO, says the facility is a proud winner of the award, noting that it is the most notable of five awards won by the clinic.  Rosa Clark patient loads are increasing, and so is the facility’s outreach.  The plan is to open a Westminster satellite office in the spring, and the hope is to add a second satellite office in Walhalla next fall.
