Sen. Alexander supports slim down of state health agency

Thomas Alexander, Oconee-Pickens Republican, supports a senate bill to break-up DHEC and split is responsibilities to a couple of newly-named departments.  The senator and his medical affairs committee colleagues Thursday agreed to move the bill to the senate floor.  Alexander acknowledges long-running complaints that DHEC has grown to large and, for the benefit of all, the duties can be re-assigned to new departments called behavioral and public health and environmental services. His further comments are being aired over 101.7/WGOG NEWS.
