Scott to make housing a top priority

South Carolina’s Tim Scott decries conditions in the U-S in which many Americans struggle to afford rent and mortgage payments and homelessness rates are at record-high levels.  The state’s junior U-S senator addressed comments yesterday during a housing committee hearing in Washington with the acting secretary for Housing and Urban Development and the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.  Scott wants the Committee of Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs to consider his housing legislation, the “Road to Housing Act.”  He touts the bill as way to reform all segments of the country’s housing market.
