Scott hails passage of antisemitism bill

South Carolina’s Tim Scott applauds the passage by the House of his Antisemitism Awareness Act and decries as reprehensible and alarming what’s happening on college campus such as Yale, UCLA and Columbia.  The junior South Carolina U-S senator says, “When people engage in harassment or bullying of Jewish individuals where they justify the killing of Jews or use blood libel or hold Jews collectively responsible for the actions of the Israeli government – that is antisemitic.”  Under the bill by Scott and New York U-S representative Mike Lawler, the Department of Education is directed to use the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism when investigating antisemitic acts on campus.
