Scott and Graham react to appointment of special counsel

South Carolina’s U-S senators have commented on the attorney’s general decision to name a special counsel to review the possible mishandling of documents by President Biden when he was Vice President. Tim Scott suggests hypocrisy, saying President Biden condemned former President Trump for having classified documents.  Scott’s counterpart, Lindsey Graham, said, “Many questions remain as to why the discovery of classified documents — found several days before the midterm election — was not announced until after the election. The bottom line,” Graham said, “is we need to fully understand what happened in both cases — involving Presidents Trump and Biden — to make sure our system works in a way to protect our natural security interests.”
