School incident in Carnesville, Georgia

A 58-year old northeast Georgia man was arrested and jailed this week after an incident that caused concern in front of Carnesville Elementary School.  Steve Thomas, the Franklin County Sheriff, quoted witnesses as saying they saw a person “in sleeveless shirt wearing what appeared to be a full-hooded demon or devil kind of mask.”  What’s called a “SOFT” lockdown procedure enabled authorities to secure the area until the person of interest was located.  Martin, Georgia resident Daryl Keith Davis was charged with disruption or interference with the operation of a public school.  Thomas’s deputies found no weapons on Davis, and it was not immediately known why he decided to go onto the school grounds.
