Scammer used caller I-D spoofing

An Oconee financial crime investigator has been made aware of a scam in which a text was sent seeking authorization for a charge that turned out to be fraudulent.  In this scam, if the receiver of the text responds no, an additional text is sent saying that a “representative” will call.  But the so-called representative will use caller I-D spoofing to make it appear the call comes from a Bank of America customer service number.  The caller then tries to get their victims to confirm the last eight to ten digits of their debit card number.
