Rule changes for inspecting dams

What happened as the result of the erosion of a spillway in 2017 in Oroville, California prompted an arm of the federal government to add to and change the rules covering inspections of dams that hold back water.  And those changes from “FERC” — the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission– are being relayed to companies such as Duke Energy, which owns and operates dams including the one of Jocassee in Oconee County.
