Retirement celebration fills city hall chambers

City hall chambers at Seneca filled beyond capacity Friday to celebrate the retirement of Danny Singleton, the municipal court judge for 24 years.  Singleton’s family members, many of his co-workers, and admirers were there to congratulate Singleton and to hear the salutatory remarks of Mayor Dan Alexander.  Singleton departs Seneca at month’s end for a new chapter in his professional life, as he’s due to be sworn in December 31 as the county’s new probate judge.  His responsibilities will change, but he believes he’s prepared as he has read the important material to familiarize himself with probate court duties such as marriage ceremonies and estate matters.
