Restaurant worker taken into custody

The police are pursuing assault charges against a Walhalla restaurant employee in the investigation of Friday afternoon’s incident at Zaxby’s restaurant.  Placed in custody a restaurant worker, identified by the police, as Thomas Lamar Cobb.  An investigating officer quoted 49-year old Cobb as saying he had been drinking at work and got into an argument and that he threw something at the employee, but did not know it was hot.  The police said on Friday afternoon they were told by the restaurant manager that three employees were assaulted and one needed medical attention for hot grease thrown into the face of one of the three.  At midafternoon, EMS was seen loading one person on stretcher into an ambulance.
