Replacement manufacturer secured for 123 location
A Chester, South Carolina company that produces polyethylene film will expand to the Oconee County building vacated by the Pre-Zero operations on the Sandifer Boulevard. Helping facilitate the move is an ordinance made final on Friday during a special Oconee County Council meeting. The council approved a fee-in-place of tax arrangement for Carolina Poly Inc., along with an agreement for a special source credit. The council fast-tracked the ordinance, as explained by Councilman Julian Davis, so that Carolina Poly could complete the transaction by the end of calendar year 2022. Davis told 101.7/WGOG NEWS Carolina Poly will retain Pre-Zero employees and expand the making of trash bags.
