Recommending just parts of a Duke rate jump

At the heart of Duke Energy’s request to raise South Carolina rates are fuel costs for customers in the last two years have nearly doubled.  But a state office that represents the public’s interest is recommending that Duke not get all it is asking for.  The decision will rest with a second state agency, the Public Service Commission.  A PSC hearing is set for Tuesday, September 26.  In an interview airing on 101.7/WGOG NEWS, Robert Lawyer of the South Carolina Office of Regulatory Staff breaks down the request and identifies the witnesses his office will send to the hearing.
