Pre-trial recommendation in case involving Salem parties

A magistrate judge at Greenville recommends the dismissal of federal-related parties in a lawsuit filed for a Salem post office customer.  U-S Magistrate Judge Kevin McDonald’s conclusion, in a 25-page report, is that allegations against the federal government, along with two Salem post office workers, should be dismissed at the pre-trial level.  But the attorneys for plaintiff Dawn Lusk have filed their objections.  What started as an investigation by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office into a common law breach of peace complaint two years ago developed later into a lawsuit against two postal workers, the Town of Salem, and an attorney who no longer represents town government.  The lawsuit alleges Lusk was assaulted by one of the postal workers when she went to the post office on March 6, 2020 to collect her mail.
