Politics are in the air

The night of June 2 the auditorium at Walhalla High School is reserved for a forum featuring the two men bidding for Seat One, South Carolina House of Representatives from Oconee-Pickens counties.  The League of Women Voters announces that at 7 o’clock on that Thursday night the incumbent, Bill Whitmire, and his challenger, Wally Sparks, will have the chance to present their platforms and respond to questions from the moderator.  Those who attend are urged to submit questions in writing, either before or during the forum.  The League of Women Voters, a non-partisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy education and advocacy.
