Police and fire response to Clemson Ridge

Police officers are credited with going from apartment to apartment to evacuate the fire scene at the Clemson Ridge apartments, and the fire fighters reached the scene within minutes yesterday.  It was a noon hour fire yesterday that destroyed one of the 12-unit buildings that paralleled the Wells Highway, not far from the intersection at Radio Station Road.  Nine of those units were occupied, but none of the apartment dwellers were hurt.  One fire fighter required medical attention.  By early last night, no cause for the fire had been ascribed, though Richie Caudill, the Seneca fire chief, said agents from both “SLED” and the “ATF” are helping with the investigation.
