Petition to settle push during school yard football
A petition filed with the Oconee Common Pleas Court seeks approval to settle a claim against the county school district, a claim started after a youngster was hurt April 18 when he was pushed to the ground by students playing football. The petition filed for Deanna Lynn Swafford, parent and natural guardian of a minor under 18 years old. The court filing alleges the push-to-the-ground resulted from “alleged improper supervision within a District classroom.” Medical bills were pegged at $5,900. Besides the medical bill payments, the petition seeks $4,800.
