Passenger train is halted

A report credited this morning to the Washington Post quotes President Biden saying “a tentative” deal has been reached to avert the potential of, what’s feared, a freight railroad strike that would cripple the country’s supply chain.  But in the walkup to tomorrow’s deadline, all long-distance AMTRAK trains have been canceled.  Included is the passenger train that runs between north and south with stops in both Clemson, South Carolina and Toccoa, Georgia.  According to ABC NEWS, nine of the 12 unions representing 115 thousand workers have reached deals, but three are still not in agreement.
