Parades today in Clemson and Westminster

Senator Graham and Clemson President Clements are among the notables who head to Westminster today for the Rotary Club’s Apple Festival Luncheon — the first such luncheon since COVID-19 interrupted normal routines.  Today and tomorrow are the big days for the Westminster festival to celebrate this year’s apple crop.  The Apple Festival Parade will make its way through Westminster at 4 o’clock this afternoon.  This evening in Clemson, Tigers baseball coach Erick Bakich serves as the grand marshal for the First Friday Parade.  The 6 pm parade follows the traditional route on highway 93 from Cherry Road to Williamson Road and will embrace the theme:  “One Small Town Yawning its Greatness.”  An environmental and natural resources major, Colleen Sweeting, will direct the parade for Central Spirit.
