Ongoing litigation involving Oconee County

At their meeting next week, Oconee County councilmen are scheduled to receive legal advice and discuss the following ongoing litigation titled, King v. Oconee, etal.  It’s a matter reserved for council’s executive session, to follow the agenda for the regular 3rd Tuesday meeting to start at 6 Tuesday night.  In 2021, an attorney for Sandra King filed a civil suit naming Oconee County co-defendant in a complaint alleging allegations of breach of confidentiality and invasion of privacy.  The county, through its outside attorney James Jolly, responded that the complaint “fails to state facts sufficient to constitute causes of action” and should be dismissed.  According to a consent scheduling order, the case is eligible to be tried after August 31.
