One-half acre envisioned as new lake marina

Duke Energy has made application to “FERC”– Federal Energy Regulatory Commission — to allow a lease to Kensington Estates at Keowee for a residential marina.  The marina would occupy a little more than one-half acre on Lake Keowee in Seneca and include two floating docks and accommodate 19 watercraft.  According to FERC documents, the shoreline adjacent to the proposed marina is classified in the Shoreline Management Plan as Future Residential Marina.  The decision is up to the commission that governs the federal regulatory agency.  The commission will accept protests or comments associated with the application.
