Oconee’s top educator to be evaluated Monday

School’s out for summer.  That does not apply to Oconee school trustees.  On Monday they will have a full day.  It’ll start in the afternoon with a tour of the new middle school construction work in Seneca, followed by a planning session/board retreat.  At night, the five trustees are to reconvene for their June meetings.  The agenda includes final reading of the proposed $100 million-plus budget for the 2023-24 year.  Behind closed doors Monday night the trustees are to conduct their annual evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland.  After last year’s evaluation, the board gave Thorsland a two-year contraction extension, “along with a raise equivalent to other district employees.”
