Oconee pump prices creep to near national level

Those of us who keep our eyes peeled on gas pump prices spotted the cost of regular jumped yesterday at various locations across Oconee to just short of $4 dollars a gallon.  “Unfortunately,” says AAA, “this isn’t the end of seeing prices rise at the pump.”  At $3.99 a gallon, the Oconee price was just a few pennies short of the national average of $4.06.  AAA’s Tiffany Wright says, “Motorists could continue to see record high prices at the pump because of high oil prices that are surging due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.  Sanctions and regulations against Russia have limited its ability to sell its oil on the global market, which has intensified global concerns in what was already a tight market due to the pandemic.”
