Oconee native killed in Texas plane crash

Published media accounts report the deaths of two people—one, an Oconee County native– in a light  airplane crash late last month in central Texas.  The sport aircraft deceased were identified as Lisse Melendez Colon and Michael David Langston, a 58-year old Oconee native.  Both Colon and Langston lived in Bay City, Texas.  A press release form the FAA stated:  “An Airborne Windsports Edge 912 weight-shift control aircraft crashed in Granite Shoals, Texas around 7:00 am (May 29).”  It’s believed the aircraft was flying from Phoenix, Arizona.  The funeral for Michael David Langston will be 11 am Wednesday, June 8 at the Davenport Funeral Home with burial to follow in Heritage Memorial Gardens.  The family receives friends from 10 to 11 tomorrow morning, prior to the service at Davenport.
