Oconee GOP leaders to reconsider a question

A meeting next week of the leaders of Oconee County Republicans is designed to settle a question of whether to invite the county council for a town hall question-answer meeting.  Jim Mann, county GOP chairman, announces he’s calling a Zoom meeting of the party executive committee for August 7 to re-consider the invitation question and vote to send the invitation to all five  council members.  In Mann’s party update for July, he says, “Following the discussion on resolutions, a motion came forth to invite our County Council members to a Town Hall Q&A meeting.  The questions would be provided to the members prior to the event, and the topics would be limited to the 2024 Budget and Budget Approval Process.  Due to a concern raised about inviting all members constituting a quorum, the motion was amended to extend an invitation to only the current & past County Council Chairman….”
