Oconee divers take a stab at righting crashed plane

Rescue divers from Oconee County tried but failed to open the doors to the plane that remains tangled among tree branches in Lake Hartwell water at Hart County, Georgia.  And today or tomorrow NTSB crews return to try to retrieve the body of the pilot.  Authorities are confident they know the identity of the pilot flying from Florida to South Carolina last Saturday, but won’t disclose his identity until the body is recovered and identity is confirmed.  Mike Cleveland, the Hart County sheriff, is quoted by WLHR Lavonia as saying an insurance company has agreed to pay a salvage company to effect the removal.  But, the sheriff, admits he’s uncertain that once the plane is eventually raised above the lake surface, how do they move it to the shore. The Beechcraft 55 Baron spiraled down into the water and crashed thru tree tops.
