A 25-year-old Fair Play woman remains in jail today, on a combined $110,000 surety bond, after her arrest yesterday on outstanding arrest warrants on charges of First-Degree Burglary and Malicious Injury to Property.

Geena Elizabeth Elaine Ferguson, of N. Davis Drive, was booked into the Oconee County
Detention Center around 4:02 pm Wednesday. Ferguson was taken into custody yesterday, on Utica Mill Hill, during the course of a separate investigation in regard to a trespassing complaint.

During the early morning hours of July 14th of this year, a Deputy from the Uniform Patrol
Bureau responded to a separate address on N. Davis Drive, in Fair Play, in regard to a reported burglary. After arriving on scene, a Deputy met with the homeowner who told the Deputy that he heard glass breaking near his front door and then a door to the residence was kicked in.

The homeowner told the Deputy that he observed Ferguson and an adult male, whom Ferguson is reportedly in a relationship with, on his porch. The homeowner also stated that after the windows were broken someone began to push through the broken window and made contact with a dresser. The homeowner stated that a family Bible fell off the dresser and was damaged.

Ferguson had left the scene by the time the Deputies arrived. During the course of the
investigation, the Deputy observed broken glass inside of the home. The Deputy also observed damage to a door and the door frame as well. The Deputy also observed blood on a window frame.

During the course of the investigation, Deputies learned that Ferguson had a laceration on one of her arms. Deputies attempted to make contact with Ferguson but were unable to.
Based on evidence that was gathered during the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained against Ferguson. According to the arrest warrants, Ferguson caused damage to three windows by shattering the windows with an unknown object. Ferguson also caused damage to the door frame and a family Bible.

Arrest warrants also state that Ferguson forced open a door while the deadbolt was secured.

Ferguson also had a prior record of convictions on Burglary charges, according to an arrest warrant, and the Burglary occurred during the nighttime.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. Due to the nature of the
crime, neither the victim’s name nor the names of witnesses will be released by the Sheriff’s Office.

Ferguson will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a condition of bond,
should she be released from jail.
